The LAMTN Tervice trip is open to music therapy students in the USA who are interested in the practice of music therapy in Latin America. The trip takes place in Panama City, Panama and students work with people all ages and abilities. 

  • You will practice (supervised) music therapy intensively with people all ages and abilities. You will gain out-of-classroom educational experiences while helping others

  • You will practice with a world leader in the field of international volunteering: The Danilo Perez Foundation and the Music Therapy Center of Panama

  • You will practice in sustainable, community-based programs. 

  • You will be supervised by expert local staff members

  • You will learn, explore, and understand Latin American cultures and populations

  • You will learn songs in Spanish and practice the Spanish language

Bachelor, Master and PhD students of Music Therapy who are currently studying in the USA. Minimum age is 18. You need some basic Spanish language skills, be healthy and disciplined.

For each trip we have a Student Leader who organizes the trip. S/He is the contact person, organizes auditions and interviews, and follows up with every application and registration. Students who are selected will need to organize fundraising events to pay for trip expenses.  Some expenses include: international flights, hotel, local transportation, food, among other expenses.
